Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
Tryssh is built local-first. This policy explains what stays on your machine (almost everything) and what we process when you use a hosted account (as little as we can).
Data that never leaves your device
- SSH secrets. Private keys, passphrases, and passwords are stored in the macOS keychain. They are never written to a database and never transmitted to us.
- Hosts, chats, and history. Stored in SQLite files under
~/.trysshon your Mac. - Terminal traffic. Your SSH sessions go directly from your machine to your servers. We are not in that path.
Data we process for hosted accounts
If you sign in to a Tryssh account (optional — the app can also run with your own API key):
- Account data: your email, name, and avatar from your SSO provider (Stytch handles authentication).
- Billing data: subscription state and credit usage. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.
- Agent requests: when the copilot answers you, the conversation content of that turn is relayed through our LLM gateway to the model provider (Anthropic) to generate the response. We meter turns for billing; we do not use your conversations to train models.
What we don't do
- No selling of personal data.
- No advertising trackers on the app or this site.
- No collection of your server credentials, host lists, or terminal history.
Data retention & deletion
Local data is yours — delete ~/.tryssh and keychain entries at any time. For hosted accounts, email us to delete your account and associated records.
